I have a good excuse....

....for not blogging. Well, I don't know if the excuse is good or not, but I just didn't have time. That's actually a bit of a fib too, because there are definitely moments throughout a normal week where I DO have time to do something of my choice; but that something is usually watching Netflix, Hulu, or napping. I recently started a class for my masters program that is all about web use and technology in the classroom, and a part of that is blogging. I figured what better time than ever to dust off my blogging shoes and get to it!

There is one super big update in our life.....we bought a house!

Matt and I had decided long ago that when we got married, we wanted it to be a small, intimate, and personal (and CHEAP) event shared with our closest loved ones. We new a way to get that feel would be to host our wedding in our own home/yard. Now, don't get me wrong, this was not the ONLY reason we decided to purchase a house (because if that were the case, then that would be a very expensive wedding). However, we were recently engaged, our lease was ending, and the market was just calling our names with amazing home prices and interest rates. We ended up going down to Tacoma (where we knew we wanted to buy) with our awesome realtor Olivia and after a few duds found the absolute perfect home. The more we walked through it, the more we loved it, flaws and all. The buying process was pretty smooth, not nearly as stressful as people say and so far there have been no major issues with the 107 year old house (*knock on wood*). Below are some pictures from before we moved in.

  1. Isn't it interesting that what we should be doing to engage kids/families is what our district, a so-called tech "friendly" district, blocks? Frustrating. I was just told last week that they set up more blog blocks by the person in charge. Seriously? I have used my blog for classroom instruction, prompts, engagement, and for HW help. In nearly three years I have over 35,000 hits from my kids.

So, that's my rant. I'm good now. Still blogging along. :)

Love your house, both before and after.

    XOXO
